Yes, I did come up with this idea while packing for my trip and worrying about airplane germs 😅 But, I think it's a fun exercise!

By "might be" I definitely meant I am taking a cool art related trip. I am learning so much from @Samantha Dion Baker and Ohn Mar Win!! Masking Fluid - a few considerations

My current favorite masking fluid is the masqepen, but honestly most masking fluids work pretty much time same. I just like the applicator. For jars of masking fluid I love my ruling pen, it's fairly precise and cleanup is super easy!

Flowy, flowery, and fun! This one is a perfect weekend project you can do all the different steps between your weekend chores and errands. I love how subtle and yet effective the masking fluid outlines are! In this video I used a cotton watercolor journal, Unicorn Food Watercolors, a size 6 quill brush, and masqepen masking fluid.... And a lot of patience for waiting.

When did you guess what it was going to be? I think this one turned out a little different than I planed in my head but still very cute! Yes, there are e-book options like on kindle and such. And there are pdf downloads available of the images for any format of the book included as well. I plan to show you guys how to transfer the image to watercolor paper before the book comes out.
I love those videos, too. I was telling my husband the other day to mind his own cilia and keep his flagella to himself. 🤣 I've always been a big fan of the overlap of science and art, so this is especially fun for me. I could see this project being a hit with grade school kids, too. You did a great job.

YES!!! I was coming to say the same!! I love that this community is also fans! Everything Complexly puts out is great (Scishow, Bizarre Beasts, Crash Course etc.. The new one about the Universe is amazing! But I am very sad that Journey to the Microcosmos is coming to an end. 😞 BUT I am so excited to try this out! And make it my own chance to experiment. I find doing this kind of all-in-one, wet on wet, blending, glazing, doodling combo to be so relaxing and fun! Thank you!

Totally. It'll take some time for it to fully dry, but then you just spritz and it'll be ready to use again.

Would rubber cement do the same thing? Just curious to be honest.
It could. I think it is harder to control and more likely to damage paper though. Not to say masking fluid doesn’t ever do that, but masking fluid is at least designed to be removed. Rubber cement fumes can also be😵💫

Sometimes doing things more loosely and quickly can have fun effects, other times slowing down gets more of a desired effect. I hope you enjoy this one if you decide to try again in a less rushed manner.
Are they acrylics you put in the pallet
The paint is all watercolor. The tin came with all of the little half pans I could put the tube paint into.

I love your stickers! If you can get (or create) deco transfer versions of them, they'll merge with the background and look like they were part of the original design! I've applied travel themed deco transfer stickers with a Sakura Koi field box and the new Winsor and Newton Cotman Field Pocket kit as they're plain white and look boring. Applied deco varnish after the transfer stickers dried to protect them against water. They look pretty unique now as well!
If the black didn’t quite match that might bug me 😅, but cool idea. I might try it.
